Little surprise then that our warehouse was chosen for the fashion shoot and accompanying short film of their newest collection, starring the Geo Forma in onyx black.
First released at the end of last year, the Geo Forma is redefining the category of footwear with its progressive silhouette and modern materials. The new colour update – an uncompromising full-bleed black – was chosen to enhance the shoe’s geometric shape and inherent solidity.
For the short film, London-based director Yagamoto explores themes of community and city living through movement that is choreographed to music by award-winning musician James Massiah. As a backdrop, The Beams couldn’t have been a better choice.
Exposed brickwork, steel pillars, and concrete floors contrast with the organic lines of the models in a way that puts humanity – and with it the strength of community – centre stage. And what a stage it is. The Beams offers 55,000 square feet of unadulterated space and floods of natural light. Depending on the time of day, light filters in through factory-style windows to cast a warm glow or stark relief, transforming the space from ethereal to industrial and back.
The Beams also comes with loads of outdoor space, making it the ideal set-up for crews and unit bases. And just a 2 minute drive away lies Silverworks Island, an open-air destination extraordinaire with even more space to play. Here, against the jagged backdrop of London’s skyline, the second part of the film makes the most of wide skies and open plains. Pairing both destinations allowed Converse x Cold Wall* to create a visual journey that transcends place to make the most of raw space.
